Movies featuring Dannys art
Danny Clark is one of a rare group of self-represented artists in America. Born in
1966, he is primarily a self-taught sculptor. His artistic talent was evident at an
early age and through perseverance and dedication, he has grown to be known as a
master at sculpture in wood.

Danny maintains his studio gallery at Aqua Dulce Canyon, California, in the United
States of America.

His initial inspiration to turn to wood sculpture occurred in 1989 when his father
purchased an 18th century hand carved cabinet. He was moved by the details and
the precision of the long gone craftsman's work. This old world craftsmanship
struck a chord deep inside him that brought clarity to his life direction. Working
with wood he discovered he was able to see the finished sculptures hidden by nature
in the wood and from that moment a transformation began which has shaped his
soul as an Artist.

Since his early experience growing up in the wilderness of Canada, 100 miles from
the smallest of towns, Danny's desire to create has been continuous and prolific. His
passion for nature can be seen in his sculptures ranging from the "Spirit of a Chief's
Final Ascension" to "The Majestic Eagle". He also creates complete scenes of
wildlife and carvings of natural scenic vistas. Inspiration for his works comes from
his life experiences and observations at the moment when he becomes one with the
wood.

The sensory joy one experiences from seeing nature represented in an original wood
carving is something no other material can provide. There is an ancient, primal link
between man and wood, and few viewers can resist the urge to run their hand over
Danny's sculptures. Wood sculpture occupies space in our world and allows for a
deeper connection through its sense of nature. This is something that
two-dimensional art cannot satisfy.

Danny strives to create sculptures which will seduce the viewer's eye, stir the soul,
and entice the viewers mind to wonder. He carves as much of the details of a
particular subject as he can, allowing the wood to guide him as his mind creates.

He is a widely collected artist with a diverse and versatile artistic talent. His work
can be found in private, corporate and public collections. In fact, Danny’s art is
collected by many famous artists and is featured in many Hollywood star homes.

Most recently, after finishing up some stunt sculptures for “Mission Impossible 3”,
Danny has been working with Ed Asner on the movie “Sandcastles”, a moving story
about letting go. In Sandcastles, Danny created all the sandcastles, and his carvings
are featured throughout the movie. He was the sculptor who was chosen to do the art
props on the movie “Gideon” featuring Charlton Heston who portrayed a lifelong
wood carver. And his early work can be seen in the movie “Space Cowboys”.

Danny’s work can be seen in many fine galleries and though he has had offers to
appear in many shows, he prefers to keep his production small. This is not to say he
is not passionate about his work, in fact he likes to meet the people and personally
sign every piece he creates. He is very approachable, and welcomes your inquiries.
